What Causes Speech Impairment While On Risperidone?

Yes please tell me if I have too much risperidone in my body. I take 2.25 mg nightly and have had problems with my speech. I know what I want to say but I can t get the words out. I ve had a head CT and showed no signs of a stroke but I m concerned because it effects my work. I work in an ER and have to talk and act quickly. Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to Rivotril though it is least associated with extreme pyramidal side effects but slurred speech can be due to overt sedation caused by Rivotril.

Kindly get a neurologist consultation for neurological examination regarding extrapyramidal signs and stop Rivotril. Keep good hydration.
