Hi Dear,
Welcome to HCM.
Understanding your concern.
Thanks for your concern. The symptoms you mention in query are due to
acid reflux disease also known as ' GASTROINTESTINAL REFLUX DISEASE '
In this condition the upper sphincter of esophagus allow the acidic content of stomach to come back upto pharynx ,
This causes rashes in thraot ,which ultimately leads to bleeding .
I would suggset you to :-
- Avoid eating spicy and heavy food ( fatty and sugary ).
- Take small and frequeng meals .
- Eat at least one hour before going to bed .
- Take a light walk after every meal.
- Take antacid (gelusil) to neutralize the acidity .
Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination and to rule out condition like sever
throat infection or respiratory infection (due to smoking).
Doctor may order X-ray of upper digestive system, monitor PH level of digestive system or endoscopy.
Doctor may prescribe H2 blockers like ranitidine ,
Proton pump inhibitor like
omeprazole to reduce the acid production or laxative like sodium picosulfate .
There can be surgical option is also there for esophagus sphincter is above treatment fails .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
