What Causes Split In The Skin Above The Anus?

I have a 5 yr old with a split in the skin above her anus in the crack. Not directly attached to the hole but above it. This is the 3rd time this has happened and I have taken her to the dr several times and they have not helped. She says it is very painful and warm bath water even hurts it. All dr have done is question abuse and have not addressed the issue at all. Could this be a yeast problem? She has had issues down there since a baby which symptom wise I have always thought was a yeast inf (I had major problems with that while pregnant with her) Please help

Hi,

Your daughter seem to have fissure in the gluteal area between the buttocks above anus. There may be secondary bacterial infection along with candidal infection. There may be severe burning pain and discomfort. Poor immunity and poor hygiene might be resposible for the disease. Apply antibiotic like mupirocine oint. Oral antibiotics,antifungal, antiinflammatory drug with antihistaminics may be given for short period. Sitz bath..i.e. Tell her to sit in tub containing water with dettol liq. for 10 min. Consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis and treatment.

I hope she would be alright after few weeks. And take care to avoid relapse of the disease.
