What Causes Sporadic Dizziness Along With Fainting Spell?
Yesterday I had a few dizzy spells off and on during the day but nothing to bad, then late yesterday evening I passed out will standing at my front door. I was talking to my son and next thing I knew I came to sitting on the floor near my front door. Don t remember anything in between. I remember being dizzy right before I went out but nothing after that. My kids said I was shaking like I was real cold, staring off into space, and couldn t respond to them. When I came to I vaguely remember my son yelling at me and I was fighting trying to answer but couldn t get oriented enough or something . I went to ER and the PA said my thyroid levels were off the charts,( I have hypothyroidism ) causing my BP to bottom out therefore causing me to faint. Can this really be what is happening with me?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Sushant's Response
Hello, In my opinion you might have had a syncope as your blood pressures were found low in ER. The cause has to be further investigated. A blood work and estimation of electrolytes should be done. Also your sugar levels need to be checked to rule out hypoglycemia.
