What Causes Sporadic Increased Heart Rate While On Adderall For ADHD?
My 19 year old daughter was sent have an ekg by her psychiatric nurse practitioner because she mentioned during intake that she has periodic fast heartbeats. The first on was abnormal(I didn t get any details), so she was sent to have another one yesterday, which I attended. Her heart rate increased from 70-90 periodically. I asked if she was having PVCs and the tech said no. They office called today and is referring her to a cardiologist. I have PVCs and have had a benign workup. What are they trying to rule out? She is on Adderall for ADHD but she had not taken any on the days of her ekgs.
increase in heart rate is a side effect of the medicines she is taking for adhd I recommend you consult the cardiologist and psychiatrist and if necessary get the medicines changed also for ADHD you can refer to a psychologist for behavioural therapy as it helps and also there are no side effects and you can cut down her medications and avoid any undue complications feel free to revert back
