What Causes Sporadic Knee Pain?

Hi! My knee started hurting randomly the other day. Whenever I would try and walk, there would always be pain associated with it. I can t exactly stand on it without it having to hurt me. I feel the pain almost everywhere on my knee. On my kneecap, the back of my knee. Everywhere. Also, a long time ago, I actually think I dislocated but I could be wrong. I was laying on my back, and turned to my right side really quickly and it honestly felt like my knee had came out of place with ALOT of pain, and i started crying a lot. But I hit my knee a little and it eventually stopped. Should I be worried? My knee is swollen as well at the moment and won t go down.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the pain is due to arthritis of the joints or trauma to the surrounding soft tissue.

Resting the joint, applying a cold compress and a bandage if there is swelling.

The use of an anti inflammatory medication may help eg ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam.

The use of topical agents such as voltaren gel would also be helpful.

I hope this helps
