Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having a hurting in my right foot. Sometimes it is the heel and sometimes it is the arch. It comes and goes, but usually starts if I have been standing or when I get up in the AM and much worse if I am barefoot. I am thinking it may be gout, but don t know. Wayne Holland
Gout leads sudden pain in the big toe usually with redness. After the attack inflammation subsides and the joint is normal. Gout does not affect heel and foot so gout is less possibility. Plantar fasciitis, arthritis, bursitis, tendon or ligament inflammation etcetera can be the possibility. For that local part, an x-ray is done for primary work up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
