What Causes Sporadic Vaginal Bleeding Despite Taking Regestrone?

I am 44 yrs old and am undergoing menopause. my doctor has prescribed regestrone to be taken for 20 days as i was bleeding contonuously for 15 days. My periods had stopped after 2 doses of regestrone but hv started again .I have taken 4 doses in all yet. what could be the reason. my thyroid tests and sonography reports are normal

Hi I think you need a high dose of progesterone to stop the bleeding. You can increase the dose of regesterone after consulting your doctor and then lower the dose after 3 days.You can also take some medicines like tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. It can be a perimenopausal symptom as your other tests are normal. Hope it helps.
