What Causes Spot Outside Vaginal Lip?

My wife found one pimple like spot on the outside of her genital lip. We have been married for 10 years and have never been with anyone else. She is afraid it may be herpes, and the thought about asking for a divorce. Please help This was about 3 weeks ago
