What Causes Spotting A Week Before Periods?

ve had my tubes tied for 8 years now and been with my fiancee for 6 years.My cycles have always been on time havent had an issue til 3 days ago .I have light spotting now. And I still have about a week before I get my period .This has never happened.Was wondering what it could be.
