What Causes Spotting After Removal Of Nuvaring?

This is my first month using Nuvaring, and I used it correctly. However, I am sexually active, but we ve always used the pull-out method along with the Nuvaring. So I took my ring out four days ago for my period week and today I just started spotting. I usually have heavy periods. I was wondering if this light period is my actual period? I ve heard the ring could make your periods very light. But I wonder if it s too good to be true.
