What Causes Spotting And Pressure In Lower Abdomen After Menstruation?
I had my period from october 6th till the 11th. It was normal. Every month I have normal periods, well after my normal period, around the 13th, I started having bad cramps and lots of pressure on my lower abdomen. Righ, left n middle abdomen. On the 16th I urinated n when I wiped, it was a light light barley see-able pink color. The 17th it was black looking. The 18th it turnt more brownish then the 18th was deep red. The 20th till today, the 22nd its bright bright red. The pressure isnt as bad today, but i still have pressure down below. What could this be? I have no STDs and my pap came back normal last month.
Hello there, thanks for writing in. Bleeding or spotting from genital tract can come from either endometrium (uterine lining) or from cervix ( neck of the womb). As you have had pap already I assume your cervix is all right and you must be spotting. This could be sometimes related to ovulation and is harmless. But as you have had spotting for more than a couple of days it may not be due to ovulation in your case. Other reasons could be birth control pills, intrauterine device, overgrown endometrium, polyp( endometrial or fibroid) or just a random event which can happen to all women at least once in their reproductive time. I suggest you to get an ultrasound examination done to look for these factors. If your scan turns out normal, then you may well take tab. Regestrone 5 mg twice daily or tab.medroxy progesterone 10 mg once daily for 21 days. Your spotting will resolve meanwhile and you can expect somewhat heavy and painful flow the following periods. You can take mefenamic acid or any antispasmodics for pain relief. Hope this helped you a bit. Take care !
