What Causes Spotting During Pregnancy?

i am 8 weeks pregnant,i had slight spotting last week and consulted doctor,the scan was normal.She gave me medicine and injection.i have taken 2 injections now.I was suggested to take duphaston for 25 days.But i had slight spotting yesterday and today.what is the reason for it
