What Causes Spotting Following The End Of Normal Periods?

Hello. I received my period 6 days ago which lasted for 4 days ..I have began spotting today. I have not had sex in 3 months and had a regular period 21 days ago. I have never spot before and presently nor have I been on any form of birth control. Any reason for the spotting two days after my period ended?
