General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is normal to get periods for a week, provided the flow is not heavier. In your case as it is spotting, it is important to rule out any underlying pathology like stress, low weight, obesity, PCOS etc.
I advise you to:
- Encourage normal activities, YOGA and stress free exercises
- Take nutritious diet
- Take iron and calcium supplements
- Check hemoglobin levels
- Thyroid function test
- Watch for next cycle
If the same problem persists, consult your gynecologist for further assistance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician
