What Causes Spotting Post Intercourse?

I am a 64 year old female. After intercourse, yesterday, I had bloody spotting. It has been 10 years since my last period. I stood and viewed the vaginal opening with a mirror. It appeared to me that me uterus was very low and I could easily see it. There was some fresh blood covering some of the bulge.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that there may be prolapse of the uterus. This refers to sagging/protrusion of the uterus via the vaginal opening.

It can be associated with bleeding.

A visit to your doctor can determine if this is the case.

If it is confirmed then treatment would depend on the severity and symptoms.
Treatment may entail: weight loss, kegel exercises, estrogen replacement, a pessary which is a device that is inserted.

In some cases, surgery may be needed.

I hope this helps
