What Causes Spotting Prior To Ovulation?

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 3 months. I haven't started ovulating this month and for the last 4 days when I wipe in there are traces of blood, sometimes very light in color, and other times almost brownish, but it only happens in the morning. What's up? Is there something wrong?
