What Causes Stabbing Chest Pains In Center Of Chest?

hello, yesterday i started getting these sudden stabbing chest pains directly in the center of my chest, not very painfull but they would spread to my arms and shoulders and also i felt in my eyes a couple of times. they were more frequent in the morning, they would come as a single shot at a time, some quite a few minutes apart to a couple of hours. they got weaker and farther apart as the day went on. no breathing problems, no warning of any kind, no pressure on chest at all, just nothing. the best that i can describe is it felt like a pinched nerve would feel. any ideas? thank you - male , age 39
