What Causes Stabbing Pain After Eating Between Shoulder Blades?
Hello. I am a 23 f and I experience a sharp stabbing pain that last for approximetly five minutes when drinking or eating something cold, for example ice cream or a jamba juice smoothie. It does not radiate but does hurt enough to the point of causing me to not want to have anything cold for a while. The pain is located between my shoulder blades dead center of my vertibre. I have been curious about thus for years. Thank you.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have stabbing pain after eating between shoulder blades . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like cervical spondylosis , tendinitis or angina . As pain occur after eating so it can also possible that the pain is occurring due to acid reflux , consult gastroenterologist for it . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic without any delay . Doctor may order nerve conduction test , check for the trigger points of the trapezius muscle if your CT scan and MRI are normal . Doctor may prescribe physical therapy at least for a week along with stretching exercises . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist surgeon for cardiac problem . For now take proper rest apply warm compresses on shoulder and neck and do not exert your body .
