What Causes Stabbing Pain And Swelling In Right Knee At Night?
I have stabbing pains on the left side of right knee, more to the top than behind. They occur at night &I will not give up until I get out of bed & walk on it. When it finally gives up (5 min. Or so), I can go back to bed, only to have it happen again in about 2 hrs . At times the pain will radiate up &/or down. There is some swelling at sight.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have stabbing pain and swelling in right knee at night can be due to causes like Traumatic injury to knee, Arthritis, Bursitis,Gout, Pseudogout,Rheumatoid Arthritis or Baker's cyst. I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x-ray, MRI Scan, blood tests etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly. You can be advised to take anti-inflammatry painkillers like Ibuprofen for pain relief and topical application of analgesic ointment like Voveran. Do gentle massge with flax seed oil on knee and drink warm milk with turmeric powder .
