What Causes Stabbing Pain In Calf?

I am 69, 5' 10", 205#. I have just recently been getting a severe sharp stabbing pain in the calf of my right leg. It only lasts for 1-2 seconds, but has occurred 5 or 6 times a day>My only known health problems are high blood pressure and acid reflux. Both are controlled.
