Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
24 year old female. Have been through tremendous stress. Experiencing a stabbing pain in the back top right of my head. It hurts for a few seconds then it stops for a few seconds and it has been recurring in the same spot off and on every few seconds. Should be concerned? It feels like a burning stab sensation. Doesn t feel like the worst headache of my life, doesn t feel like the tension headache squeezing sensation. Please advise as I am starting to worry.
It may be due to occipital neuralgia. For that you may require MRI neck after spine surgeon consultation. Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition. For pain you can take tablet Acetaminophen.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
