What Causes Stabbing Pain In The Leg?

My left leg is causing me severe pain. First I get tingling and numbness, then it feels like my leg is in a vice grip. Next, it feels like its on fire, then sharp stabbing pain. It comes on suddenly and can last from moments to hours. Evening and nighttime is the worst. What is going on with my leg?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Leg pain is also frequently a sign of injury, such as a muscle strain.
It is a common injury that happens when the muscle fibers tear as a result of overstretching.
I suggest using a muscle relaxant such as Baclofen.
I also suggest taking magnesium supplement for muscle relaxation.
I recommend to use cold compresses for relieve.

Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
