What Causes Stabbing Pain In The Tail Bone While Coughing, Sneezing And Blowing Nose?
Hi. This morning I had a coughing fit from a cold I m fighting. With my last forceful cough I felt a pop very low at the bottom of my tailbone. Since the pop I get a severe stabbing pain there when I cough, sneeze, blow my nose, or laugh. If I m standing up and feel a cough coming, I ll use my hand to put pressure on the bone and it won t hurt as bad. Pressure does cause pain, but not as bad as coughing without pressure on the bone. Could this be a pulled muscle on my coccyx?
Hi, You are absolutely right. There might be having some strain on lower lumbo-sacral region due to spasmodic cough giving rise muscle spasm as well. Take some analgesic medicine if require. Apply some analgesic, muscle relaxant cream on affecvted part. Ok and take care.
