Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am a 14 y/o soccer player and I injured my right quadricep due to not warming up properly before extreneous training 2 weeks ago. I have been taking it easy for the most part, icing it, and have been trying it out every once in a while in the course of these two weeks. Every time I strike a ball when I play soccer, or when I sprint and push off my thigh, I get a sharp pain in my quad. The motion of kicking the ball is really the only motion that inflects pain, other everyday activities such as walking doesn t have an affect. I have not been able to play soccer for two weeks and I would appreciate an answer :) Thanks!
Hello Dear. the main treatment is complete rest for 2 weeks and physiotherapy exercise. Kindly go to an orthopedician who will examine you and take an x ray if needed. Then he may give you certain pain killers and muscle relaxant tablets. Then he may refer you to a physiotherapist, who will teach you muscle strengthening exercises. You will have to do it regularly for the prescribed period of time. Meanwhile stop playing soccer and give rest to your legs.
Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you. All the best With warm regards Dr Sanjay Kini
