General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the stabbing pain in upper chest with raising by deep breathing indicates various possible issues as

- muscle or ligament pull

- costochondritis
- underlying nerve compression or irritation at intercostal region
- others

However, if you can provide further details of any work up done in recent lab, x-ray or others ; it would be best useful to co relate further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
