What Causes Stabbing Pain In Upper Right Side Of Chest?

Hi, this morning I woke up with a sharp, stabbing pain in the upper right side of my chest. I thought it was just a muscle that had been sore or something but when I started to walk around, it hurt to breathe. I ve had to take shorter breaths and it just seems to get worse. And if i try to take a larger one, then the pain is unbearable and there s is a slight bubbling or popping feeling that occurs. It happened once last year around this time actually and it seems so much worse this year. It also hurts slightly when I move my right arm too much and I still don t know what is causing this.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to do chest X-ray immediately. It is possible to be pleural effusion or another problem with respiratory system that needs immediate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
