What Causes Stabbing Pain In Vagina After Vaginal Cyst Removal?
I had an internal vaginal cyst removed yesterday. The cyst was next to my urethra and was removed by a urologist under general anesthesia. Today, I am having a sharp stabbing pain inside my vagina. It almost feels like I m being poked with a needle when I move certain ways or try to sit. Could this be stitches poking me? Or is this typical incision pain? The dr. told me I would be in a good amt. of pain for a few days, but this stabbing pain is not what I was imagining.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. It is natural to experience pain with any incision. The operated area is highly sensitive and well innervated. So, you feel the burning sensation. There could be some collection in the operated area and this can lead to the pricking sensation which changes on movement. Please try to avoid pressure on the wound as much as possible to help faster healing. An occasional suture may also cause the sensation, but is rare. Please contact your health care provider for further information. Hope this helps.
