What Causes Sticky Discharge From The Bottom Of The Scalp?
So there s this sticky liquid that oozes out at the bottom of my scalp, near my neck and it hardens to form some kind of yellow-ish dried skin. I peeled it out using my fingertips & it kept repeating to ooze & harden. What is happening & what should i do?
There is likely an infection present that requires treatment. It would be difficult to say, since there is no image , whether it is a bacterial or fungal infection. Some persons may actually have a combination of both types of infection present. In that case, it may have started fungal but scratching or the touch of the hands to the area, introduced bacteria.
Fungal scalp infections require oral anti fungal medication eg sporonox, lamisil, fluconazole. Oral antibiotics may also be needed for the bacterial infection, if it is suspected.
I hope this helps
