What Causes Stiff Neck Along With Painful Jaw And Ears?

This morning when I woke up I noticed I had a stuff neck. The back right side of my head ( behind the ear. . Not directly behind ear) was excruciating pain. It doesn't matter if I turn my head, lift it up or down, even laying down. ..I can't get comfortable or the pain to stop. Now I have a migraine. My jaw and ears have been hurting for the past couple of days. Should I be concerned?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of stiff neck along with painful jaw and ears is mainly because of temporomandibular joint dislocation of inflammation of temporomandibular joint. Throat infection and swollen tonsils are one of the possible reasons for your condition. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist/ dentist once and get it examined completely. If it is due to TMJ disorder then go for mouth stretching exercises, blow in blow out are of the the exercises. If it is related to throat infection take proper course of antibiotics such as Azithromycin. Do warm saline gargles. Do betadine rinses. Maintain hygiene of oral cavity. Take anti-inflammatory drugs. Start taking Tylenol for neck pain. Your symptoms will resolve soon.
