General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Due to improper posture you had probably got a spasm of your neck muscles and probably it was more on the right side. You had done the right thing by doing neck exercises. However, in such cases taking paracetamol and hot compress can also be relieving. If it is of shorter duration, initially can be managed with analgesics and muscle relaxants (I prescribe aceclofenac and chlorezoxasone to my patients). If symptoms are persisting, we need to take an X-ray to rule out cervical spondylosis or any other pathologies. Meanwhile you can do something to minimize the pain
1) Avoid constant head posture for long
2) Use neck muscle tightening excercise
3) A cervical collar may also help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
