What Causes Stiffness In Neck And Back?

I usually get an upper respiratory infection when the weather begins to get colder. Yesterday I thought that was what I was coming down with , I had a slight fever which has not happened before and my upper back was achy. Around 3:00 yesterday my neck and back became very stiff, this morning I had no back or neck stiffness but today again around 4:00 my neck and back became very stiff. This is my second day on a Z pack

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Your neck and back became stiff after upper raspiratory tract infection. It is not due to upper respiratory infection it is due to some pathology in the vertebrae. If i have to treat such a patient i will advice some blood tests like hb,tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar, crp, andan xray of cervical and upper thoraxic vertebrae. If i have to treat such a patkent i will advice tab nimuslide ,peracetamol, MR, tab tramadol hard bed, tab augmentum 625 twice a day sporlac sachets, levofloxacin 500 one tab daily, steam inhalation, diclofenac gel cream for local use , rest on arrival of reports
