What Causes Stiffness In The Leg Leading To Pain?

hello, my mother is having osteoarthritis for the last ten yrs...her xray report tallied the same.....she takes traction regularly...she cant walk neither sit for a long time...she is 45 yrs old...the left leg muscle becomes stiff leading to intolerable pain...please help.
