What Causes Stiffness In The Neck And Headaches?

I recently completed steroid treatment for a recurring skin vasculitis which was followed by new symptoms. From time to time I have painful knees concurrent with stiff neck and headache, feelings of exhaustion. This is followed by severe abdominal pains- I rest with my abdomen on pillows (providing pressure) & it resolves within 1-2 hours or so but my abdomen remains distended. This has happened twice, 3 days apart. Now I see new marks on my legs, red bumps which look like they have blisters on top.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have stiffness in the neck and headaches. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like cervical spondylosis , cervical radiculopathy , migraine or muscle spasm . The symptoms can also occur due to lymphadenopathy , so consult ENT specialist ,who may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory. I would suggest you to apply warm compresses take proper rest , and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan or MRI along with physical examination of the neck . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory or recommend physical therapy. Massage your neck with warm sesame oil gently.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
