What Causes Stiffness With Pain In Arms?

i gave blood last saturday and ever since my arms been stiff and i cant bend or stretch it without feeling a sharp pain where the needle went in and ive realized that the are is now bruised, what is it? and how can i help it recover so i can start going to the gym again?
