What Causes Stinging Pain And Burning In The Base Of Penis?

I m a male and wanting to know if I may have a uti. I tested positive for leukocytes and negative for nitrite with the azo test strip. I have no burning sensation when I urinate but just a bad sting and burning in the base of my penis. Could I possibly have a uti infection or kidney infection?

Sexologist 's  Response
Hi,

If you had unprotected sex it may be a sexually transmitted disease. Otherwise, it may be a urinary tract infection. There is a minimal chance for any infection in kidneys.

You may consult a physician and start antibiotics & NSAIDs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. S.R.Raveendran, Sexologist
