What Causes Stinging Pain In Between The Shoulder Blades?

I'm having a stinging type of pain in between my shoulders and some times further down my back when I sit sewing for over a couple of hours it really hurts down around my waist area under the rib cage. My hands have been going num as well quite frequently. I've had plursery and its that same kind of internal pain. Any suggestions?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have stinging pain in between the shoulder blades . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like poor posture , herniated discs , gallbladder disease , heart attack , inflammation under the diaphragm , spinal stenosis , cervical spondylosis ,osteoarthritis or facet joint syndrome . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order x-ray , CT scan or MRI to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory . Also recommend physical therapy , and stretching exercises . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist for heart problem or gastroenterologist for gallstone problem . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and apply warm compresses between shoulders . Keep your posture upright .
