What Causes Stinging Sensation And Difficulty In Urinating?

My 8 year old son is having difficulty urinating and is experiencing a stinging sensation. He was swimming recently and was on antibiotics, as well. There appear to be no visible external signs of infection or redness. Is it possibly a reaction to the chemicals from the pool, or a yeast infection from the antibiotic use?

HI

Thanks for posting your query.

It is very unlikely for chemicals to cause Urinary problems . Any itching or burning sensation in genital region can be caused by chemical but not urinary problems .

I suspect an Urine infection which could be due to Bacteria or yeast. He needs to be tested for urine infection by doing a Urine Routine test. Kindly revert back to me with urine report.

Till then ask him to drink plenty of water, take citrus fruits .

Hope this information was useful to you.

Any clarifications feel free to ask.

Regards.
