What Causes Stinging Sensation In The Lips While Eating?

My lips and tongue sting when eating. My lips hurt especially in the corners. I have tried lip ointments and Vaseline to try and keep them moist, but nothing is helping. It has lasted a month. One doctor recommended a fungal cream, but after using it 7 days, the discomfort and pain is still there. Any suggestions.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

It looks like you have inflammation in mouth and lips that can be due to causes like dry mouth m, nutritional deficiency, fungal infection, hormonal imbalances, side effects of medications etc..

So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and also an oral swab culture can be done for confirmation..

As of now you can gargle with specialised mouthwash like Magic Mouthwash..
Do cool compresses over the lips and suck ice pops..
Start taking Vitamin B complex supplements..
Avoid spicy and irritant foods..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
