What Causes Stomach Ache And Diarrhea While Suffering From Ulcerative Colitis?

daughter is 29, generally great health, active, good nutrition , exercises several times a week. has had mild Ulceritive colitis for 10 yrs, has been in good control. For the last month she has suffered intermittently with stomach pain when she eats & diarrhea & frontal lobe headaches. could it be UC related, there is no blood in her stool and somedays are fine, then somedays she has the symptoms. it has progressed to feel worse and last longer the last couple weeks. She is making appt with a GI doctor & also a functional medicine P.A.

Hi,
I have read your question and would like to answer the question. symptoms you have described seem to related to ulcerative colitis to me.
Many patients do experience mild symptoms or no symptoms for longer period and then they experience them suddenly.
Your daughter seems to be in good control with this condition.
ulcerative colitis is debilitating disease and can cause life threatening complications.You need to see your doctor right away to avoid any life threatening complication.
This is long term disease and need to be assessed thoroughly.
After assessment your doctor would treat it to bring on remission and after that would treat to prevent from recurrence.
Meanwhile drink plenty of fluids, eat soft diet, avoid tea or coffee before you see your doctor.
