What Causes Stomach Ache With Vaginal Cramps?

Hi, so i was using a tampon and it wasn't in completely correctly.. i could slightly feel it (not very much, it wasn't very uncomfortable) but it was the only one i had and i was out of pads so i just kept it in for about 2 hours until i could get my mom to get me some pads.. it was sore to take out (it always seems to be for me, i don't use them that often) and it's been about 15 minutes after and I have a really bad stomach ache and it kind of feels like cramps inside my vagina.. is this just a coincidence??and it's menstrual cramps or could it be from wearing it not inserted correctly for to long??
