What Causes Stomach Cramps Along With Frequent Bowel Movements?

An hour (2 tops) after eating pork get severe stomach cramps and almost immediately thereafter must go to the bathroom. Pork chops and bacon do not have the effect but pork and ham always have same above result.. No way this is related to having appendix out? Ask as never had this issue until had my appendix removed. Love pork (not so much ham) and just wondering if I can do anything to prepare before eating pork. Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are having acute gastroenteritis due to food poisoning. I am suspecting this diagnosis due to presence of symptoms after eating pork. You can take a broad-spectrum antibiotic like ciprofloxacin plus metronidazole. Maintain hydration with lots of water.

To avoid such subsequent attack it's advisable to eat pork that is properly cooked. Nothing else can be done regarding that.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
