What Causes Stomach Discomfort After Eating?

I have stomach discomfort after eating. I haven t passed a stool in 2 days but only have occasional discomfort in the lower abdomen. I feel drained but not lathargic. Thought I had a fever but that proved wrong. At work yesterday the a/c gave me chills and then outside I still had them. There has been a lot of stress in the household over the last few months. I just don t know if I should go to the ER especially if not necessary. $$$

Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to to indigestion or irritable bowel syndrome. A viral infection can not be excluded either.

For this reason, I would recommend taking plenty of water to stay well hydrated and eat in small portions and more frequently.

I am sure that your situation is going to improve in the next days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
