What Causes Stomach Discomfort After Taking Glipizide?

I ve just started taking glipizide er 2.5mg 2 weeks ago, reading about possible side effects is gas . Well I have been having more than normal gas and stomach rumblings. Will these symptoms go away after my body has adjusted? Sorry but didn t know there was a cost to get an answer. Will NOT be paying

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Usually Glipizide is very well tolerated. Only a very small percentage of patients may get some side effects like gastrointestinal disturbance, gaseousness, mild constipation or nausea & diarrhea. These side effects tend reduce as your body gets adjusted to the drug. Taking the medication after food may reduce the side effects. If not then you may think of shifting to Glimepiride 1 mg once a day instead of Glipizide. Thanks.
