What Causes Stomach Pain Accompanied By Diarrhea And Profuse Sweating?

Hi I am 60 year old male in good shape. Last night my stomach was hurting real bad. I got up sat on the toilet, had very bad cramps, Finally had diarrhea, then had a lot of sweat dripping sweat. I then fainted and fell to the floor. After I had the diarrhea I felt better and the sweat stopped and I went to sleep. I went to work today and feell fine. Should I be worried?

Hello,

Is this the first time you had profuse sweating? It is possible that the extreme pain abdomen and diarrhoea led to profuse sweating and you migt have fainted as a result of dehydration.

Was it the first time you had this kind of episode or it happened before? Diarrhoea can be due to food poisoning, do you remember anything that you had specified that night which might lead to this?

If you are fine now, I would suggest you make sure you stay well hydrated and If the pain abdomen is recurrent then get an ultrasound abdomen done and see a gastroenterologist with the reports.

He will guide you further on management depending on the reports of the USG.

If this was the first time you had the episode of pain and diarrhoea and you still have doubts about this, pay a visit to your doctor and talk about it.
