What Causes Stomach Pain Along With Elevated Blood Platelets And WBC?

My son is 12 years old with elevated platelets 528 and slightly elevated WBC ….with stomach pain for 1 week. He does have a history of chronic constipation for 10 years, which back in April went away over night. Since then he has had periodic stomach aches and normal to occasional diarrhea. Waiting to get into GI Doctor.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Stomach pain appears to be due to gastritis. This can lead to diarrhea.
2. Due to inflammation in stomach, the WBC counts are high.
3. Give him less spicy foods. Regular nutritional fiber rich diet necessary. Also proton pump inhibitors if severe pain persists will be helpful.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again
