Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 8 year old son has been having stomach pains in the morning that do not last very long, flushed face several times a week, his breath smells, and increase in gas. He is high-functioning autism, in 3rd grade, having a rough time in school but the situation has been improving yet the symptoms are not going away.
HI. Autism has in built problems with the Hormonal changes, the body clock and so on. This is Pervasive developmental disorder. IT is possible that the evacuation of the feces completely is not happening and so the symptoms of the gases , Bad Breath. The constipation and difficult in the morning to pass the stool may cause the pain and flushing of the face. I would advise such patients the following: Mild laxative and Duclolax suppository.
