What Causes Stomach Pain And Sweating In Child?

Hi, my baby is 5 months old. He generally a calm baby. He has been giving signs of severe stomach pain, which over the last two weeks has escalated to him screaming rather than crying, kicking his legs, or trying to lift himself up off his tummy-if he is laying on it, and sweating heavily. The crying/screaming lasts anything from 5-20mins and he usually tires out, and falls asleep, but wakes intermittently, crying. There are real tears, and I will literally wipe the sweat off his forehead and his whole head. He is my second. I know about colic. My mom noticed last time that he had a bulge just under his navel to the left while he was screaming. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Looking your baby screaming every day with pain is sufficient for making mother troubled/tense/impatient. I understand your psychology.
The common causes for such pains in 5 months old can be-
Lactose intolerance( loose motions are seen), Gastroeophageal reflux disease( Regurgitation of milk is seen), Intususception( overlapping of small bowels- the swelling noted by your mother favors this possibility) of infection of bowels.
You need to consult a children specialist/pediatric surgeon for exact diagnosis after examination/ necessory investigations.
You need not be panic,a systematic/quick approach/ expert guidance, will definitely solve your problem.
Thanks.
