What Causes Stomach Pain And Tenderness Despite Normal CAT Scan Result?
Hi I accidentally swallowed a chicken bone on Thursday afternoon on January 14, 2016 I begin to experience some abdominal pain as well as tenderness in my stomach on my right side close to my right breast area I drunk water and ate plenty of bread but that didn t help so I went to the ER on January 16 2016 they gave me a cat scan and checked my blood work and the doctor said everything came back normal is there anyway that the bone is stuck in my intestines or stomach and they just didn t pick it up on the exam I m still experiencing pain and tenderness and nauseous feeling and I feel maybe I need a second opinion please provide me with your recommendation thanks for your time
Usually stuck chicken bone must be picked by CT scan if above size of 10 mm mostly. If there are persistent symptoms to severe extent, an upper GI endoscopy is best way to reveal any underlying ulcer or erosion induced by chicken bone, which is not going to be shown up on the CT scan findings.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
