What Causes Stomach Pain Around Navel Along With Chest Pain?

My lil boy is 7 yrs old and he keeps complaining of his stomach hurtin around the navel area to his belly and up to his chest he say it s a real sharp pain the stomach pain been hurtin him for bout 3 wks and the chest pain jus started a couple of days ago I took him to the er and they gave him sum miralax for constipation they say bt that s not wht that is because he have bowel movements and I m not understanding whts goin on could u plz help me

Hi.
Read and understood that your son is just 7 years old and has pain in abdomen around the naval area for 3 weeks.
The chest pain started just a couple of days ago.
ER people gave him Miralax for constipation, which is not there.

In such a situation I would suggest you the following:
- He needs a special investigation protocol to find the reason of the pain.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen to find about gall bladder and the pancreas as both the Gall bladder infection called Cholecystitis and/or Pancreatitis is known to occur in this age and most probably due to round worm getting stuck in the sphincter of Oddi.
- Blood tests : the routine, liver function tests and Lipase and amylase.
- Tests of stool for 3 consecutive days.
- X-ray of the chest to see the effects that have been changed due to upper abdominal pathology.
These tests along with an opinion of a Pediatric Surgeon will a clinical diagnosis and a plan for further studies and proper management.
Get him admitted to the hospital for Pediatric care if possible to get an appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
